Teddy Bear

Invitations

Here’s one of the cutest 1st birthday party ideas for teddy bear invitations. Dress your baby up in a baby bear costume. Take their photo, print it out and add something like: “A “beary” special baby Michael is turning 1. Please join us for some birthday fun!” You could even ask everyone to bring their favourite teddy bear to the party.

Another idea is to cut card stock into teddy bear shapes and put pink ribbon for a bow on the top of the teddy bear’s head for a girl’s invitation, and a blue ribbon around the teddy bear’s neck for a boy’s invitation. You can get creative and remember to keep an invitation for the scrapbook. Your child will be too young to remember the party, but later in life will really enjoy looking back.

Decorations

Here are some great teddy bear 1st birthday party ideas for decorations:

Put out lots of stuffed teddy bears around the party area (you could also use them as table centerpieces). Draw on poster board and colored papers a bunch of paw prints and put them all around the house. If you have a sidewalk leading to the house, use colored chalk to draw more paw prints a few steps before the front door.

Put a cave area in the corner of the party room. Using rolls of brown paper works very well for this activity. Attach the paper cave to the wall or furniture in the room. Place all types of toys in the cave and let the babies and kids explore.

More teddy bear 1st birthday party ideas for setting the scene may include honey jars around the party area and buzzing paper bees which you can hang from the ceiling using fishing line.

Ask everyone to bring their own teddy bear and join the fun. For an quick decoration idea you can attach helium filled balloons to each bear.

You can also get your birthday party guests feeling special by pinning a large brown pompom to their “tail”, and giving them brown bear ears to wear.

Antique Teddy Bears

Many of you will remember the Stratford Teddy Bear Museum, with it's wonderful collection of Antique and Vintage bears. Sadly this popular visitors attraction is no more, closing it's doors for the final time at the end of 2006. A few of the historical bruins have been moved to a London location, where they will continue to be seen by enthusiasts from all over the world. Stratford has always been a thriving centre for those in search of historical locations and fascinating individual sites. The loss of a Museum with a totally unique design and content will be a great local loss indeed. Some of the main Antique attractions may have moved to a new setting some distance away, but there was a part of the Museum Shop that proved eantique and vintage teddy bears #12xtremely popular, especially having completed the amazing tour of the Museum itself and with Antique bears very much to the fore in anyone's thinking. There was an inimitable collection of bears, produced locally by an outstanding bear artist, that encompassed the Vintage and Antique flavour so very well. So popular were these bears, that the demand for them was often, almost exceeding production levels.

The incredible stylising of these bears was a bridge between the very old and the modern bears, having the old designs created in modern materials and techniques. All over the world, wherever there are bear lovers who have visited the Stratford Museum, you will more than likely find a bear with a "Mr Wockinfuss" label and tag attached to it. Each bear has it's own individual personality, as well as a record of it's birthday, it's own likes, and a complete list of the creation materials used.
"Mr Wockinfuss" bears can no longer be obtained through Stratford Bear Museum, but they are most certainly still very much alive and as popular as ever. Because they are very much based on the Vintage and Antique bears, Evolution Bears proudly announce that these incredible creations will now be available through this website. This is part of our constant striving to, not only evolve the site as a whole, but to create a wider interest in Antique bears, through, in this particular case, an extremely professional modern creation.
Like many world-wide Arctophiles, who happened to see and admire this wonderful collection of new Antiques, you will now have the opportunity to witness their continuity through our website. We are eternally grateful to Angela Popay, the "Mr Wockinfuss" creator, for agreeing to this new venture. We hope that you will visit this page on the site, and admire these bears with an extremely tasteful connection to their predecessors......

Most of you will be familiar with Teddy Bear origins, and how one man`s humane gesture brought about that first cuddly creation. Unfortunately modern inhumanity towards the European Brown Bear makes for less than comforting feelings.
We at Evolution Bears feel the need to support the rescue of these poor tormented creatures, and for their continued care in safe sanctuary. For this reason we pledge to donate £5 for every bear sold from our website to `Care for the Wild International` for this most worthy of good causes..... thank you.
